Here is the latest from my mates at the BHX spotters Forum in the UK

G-CSVS is on a test flight Monday at 1300LT for 2hr 30mins then off EMA-BAH-SIN-SYD-AKL on Thursday departing at 1000LT
It will replace G-BMRJ which will come back in the other direction before going off to Blue Dart India (on g reg)
G-CSVS will get a VH reg once Tasman AOC is approved so it's unikely to be seen in either guise in the UK again.

Great info there David... Would this be the first VH reg 757, or have there been others, even on a temporary basis?

Its a pity that there wasn't any, in either QF or even AN at the time...

I have G-BMRJ AKL-BNE-SIN on 17th ARR BNE 1000 AM.

The only VH reg B757 that I am aware of is VH-AWE which was owned by Ansett (AWAS) and was usually on lease to overseas airlines. I was lucky to see the back end of it in a hangar at Tulla in Oct'93. Very rarely seen in Oz.

There have two others to my knowledge on the VH reg , VH-BRN a freighter op by DHL mainly and VH-NOF a pax version operated by Guyana Air 2000.. I know of no more , of course I stand corrected if there are ..

VH-AWE was the aircraft that crashed into the russian aircraft over germany it was registered 9 something when it crashed.

Peter I'm correct in assuming that the B757 never wore Ansett titles?

Peter Agatsiotis 8th August 2011 09:20 PM

Yes Raymond, wasn't aware of that. Only saw the Air Crash Investigation report on TV recently, reg was A9C-DHL; accident was on 1st July 2002.

Jaryd, no it never wore Ansett titles (shouldn't of mentioned Ansett) as it belonged to AWAS (Ansett Worldwide Aviation Services) which was a seperate company that still operates. AWAS did lease a/c to Ansett (their first 12 737-300's).

Raymond Rowe 9th August 2011 07:43 PM

It was stored all white outside the Melbourne jet base for approx 8-12 months where it was worked on from time to time.

Brian Wilkes 9th August 2011 08:25 PM

He she is taken in 1991! (VH-AWE)
