Just checking out the newly uploaded Nearmap of the Richmond area as at 7 May 2011, checkout the lineup of Herc's on the tarmac!

Thanks for the link Dan. These new images were produced on the day that I flew out to Orange, and judging by the lack of crowd at the Aviation Show, they were probably done early in the morning.

Based on this, the two aircraft in the image link below may well be me taxiing for departure from Runway 29R. Both aircraft have blue wing tips like VH-SFA and the double aircraft image may have been produced from two different shots as I was taxiing (if you zoom out three clicks the leading aircraft vanishes).

I heard the photographic aircraft talking to Bankstown Tower as I was descenting towards Mulgoa from the west (returning from Orange), however I could not see my aircraft in any of the images along the track I used back into Bankstown. From memory they were shooting north of Bankstown at that stage.

I tried to get onto Google Maps a few years back, when they were shooting over the harbour on Australia Day. I was right on the point at Kirribilli as the aircraft made several passes, however I was just out of shot when the final high res images were produced.

Wow, very lucky there Graeme! It would seem there's more chance of getting 'captured' on Nearmap due to the frequency they retake the images, and you're on there twice!

Saw your trip report of the flight to Orange. Looks like you had a good flight? Maybe one day I'll get behind the controls again. One day!
