Virgin's next e-190 jet
Does anyone know when VB will receive there next E-190 Jet. They could open up plenty of new routes with the 104 seater jet. e.g. From Perth to Townsville and Perth to Canberra and Perth to Gold Coast. That would easily use up one aircraft. Darwin to Townsville and to Canberra and Adelaide would use up another aircraft. Even a Cairns to Canberra but not much chance of that one happening. |
There's more chance of a Cairns-Canberra route happening, than any of the others!
Even when air travel was at it's best last year, the chances of having a Perth-Townsville, or a Darwin-Townsville, would be next to zero. Mick |

Actually the ADf is one of the worst departments for giving Virgin Blue business. The SMH published some stats for the amount of buisness each govt gave DJ ex Canberra and they only gave something like 4%. A far cry from the 30% the govt had prmised. |
ZPM is due to depart Sao Jose Dos Campos on or around April 30th, for an arrival in Brisbane about 6-7 days later

isnt ZPM the E-190 painted in the Pacific Blue livery as seen in this pic or has it been repainted to stranded DJ livery

And it failed! An E-190 operating in peak times could work though. |

The E190 would be stretched to operate OOL-PER, especially in winter with a full payload. |
think you will see Tiger on that route before anyone else...
|
If it failed with a 737, why do you think it would work in a EMB-190?

Canberra failed with a 737 and they gave that another shot with the E jets. |
DJ dont operate PER - CBR?

Who said anything about PER-CBR? You pointed out a route failed that had a 737 operating it and then asked "why do you think it would work in a EMB-190? " I was merely pointing out DJ have flown 737's on other routes like SYD-CBR (and CBR-OOL??)and have re entered that market with an Embraer, so they obviously see a benefit in using a smaller plane on some 737 failed routes in the past. |
You could probably do Perth Gold Coast, but you couldnt do Gold Coast to Perth
|
We were talkuing about the routes from Perth, yet you start talking about CBR????
|
At the start of this topic, I did put in the question of a new route running from Perth to Canberra for VB's next E-190 so thats how others are mentioning about CBR.
|
I think it is also clear that the discussion is referring to Canberra in the respect that 737s didn't work on the SYD-CBR route but were later relaunched with E-jet. The comparsion was being made suggesting that if the previous 737 PER-OOL route didn't work, would relaunching this route as an E-jet service similarly be viable.
