Tim Bowrey 5th April 2008 07:55 AM

Any ideas on departure times/dates for the Corsair? Thats a scheme id really love to see. What about the Northwest's on their way? Times of Arr/Dep?

Tim

Nigel C 5th April 2008 09:17 AM

Tim,

I'll give you a hint...have a look at the previous posts, the answer might just be in there.

phil.l 5th April 2008 11:56 AM

i have heard that the 2 northwest b747s are due tonight , ithink about 16.30 but don`t hold me to that, an update would be good.

Rhys Xanthis 5th April 2008 12:05 PM

why are all these planes coming in??

is there an event on in sydney or something???

Nigel C 5th April 2008 03:08 PM

When is the big catholic convention? That's soon, isn't it? Possibly related?

Seth Jaworski 5th April 2008 03:59 PM

I think it is in July.

LMAO! :D

How long's a piece of string?

Tim Bowrey 5th April 2008 04:23 PM

It may be somthing to do with V Australia because apparently Northwest are having some sort of codeshare with V Australia. Im not sure why they would need 2 747's to come in though.

To add to the weird arrivals, 01-0041 (cn 33080/1089), a Boeing C-40B BBJ (737-7CP) from the US Air Force arrived just after 5 pm.

matthew mcdonald 5th April 2008 09:51 PM

Can anybody say where they are parked and are likely to be parked early tomorrow morning.

Thanks

Tim Bowrey 5th April 2008 10:04 PM

According to photos we have one in the new livery and one in the old which will be fantastic to catch both in Sydney.

I was just browsing Sydneyaiport.com and saw we had an arrival from.. Pago Pago:eek:

Although it appears as a US Airways flight, could this have anything to do with the NWA 747's in?

er... no!
Might be this one, "US" has a part to play in operators name, has "stars & stripes" on the tail but altogether more pleasing livery than US Airways
http://www.pbase.com/chrisg/image/95164284.jpg

There was no US Airways flight anywhere near 5:36pm. This USAF C-40 is as close as you get! (Camera clock time was out so Exif data is approx 7 min ahead of real time so landed about 5:40pm)

Nigel C 6th April 2008 06:11 AM

Northwest X 2 departs on the 10th April. Also a Thai Orient B747 will be in to pick up the people that Corsair left behind.

Something to do with a Spanish insurance convention...

phil.l 6th April 2008 07:35 AM

Nigel any idea when?

Nigel C 6th April 2008 08:10 AM

When what?

phil.l 6th April 2008 08:19 AM

Thai orient arrival

Nigel C 6th April 2008 08:59 AM

No. I don't know details.

Andrew McLaughlin 6th April 2008 09:37 AM

Are you working Wednesday Nigel? I might be down there first thing and it'd be good to say hi, even if it's just a wave over the fence! :D

Anyone else want to catch up Wednesday, I should be at either Shep's Mound or Qantas Drive from just before sunrise until 11ish.

Cheers

Andrew

Nigel C 6th April 2008 11:51 AM

I'm working Tuesday night and Wednesday night this week, and as much as I'd like to stay to say g'day, I think my bed will be calling pretty loudly by the time you rock up!;)

Cheers
Nigel

Sarah C 6th April 2008 07:52 PM

Great photos Blake - gee it is strange seeing them back in Sydney, can anyone remember the last NW passenger service here? And they are good old -200's too.

Blake Riley 6th April 2008 08:02 PM

Thanks sarah :D
&
matthew.. i put them on photobucket.com first, then copied the [IMG] code
and pasted it into the post.Never been able to work the uploading photo's on here so that way i know it works

Montague S 6th April 2008 08:43 PM

23 & 24US have been following each other around of late, they are retired from NW scheduled flights but have been kept in the fleet for charter services, mainly military & NFL charters. These are the only two classics in the NW fleet.
