Please post any information/questions about new deliveries (and new aircraft movements), first flights etc in our region in this thread.

Virgin VH-YIL arrived BNE yesterday.

LQK should ferry to CBR via Cairns tomorrow.

Is LQK currently bearing Canadian registration C-GOAO? This was in the dash 8 hanger at Canberra this afternoon. It was parked next to LQJ.

A couple of new deliveries that should be seen in Australia soon...

A380 9V-SKS was delivered to Singapore airlines on Wednesday. This should be seen in Sydney soon.

A330-300 9M-MTH was delivered to Malaysia Airlines on Wednesday as well. This should be seen in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth (& Sydney from March 2013).

Skyliner-aviation.de reports the delivery of:

ATR 72 -212A 1025 VH-FVP Skywest Airlines delivery 28-30delivery 04aug12 TLS-CAI-AAN, Virgin Australia cs jul12 BFI-HNL-MAJ-SPN ex F-WWLR

Australian Aviation reports the name as Wategos Beach.

c/n 1029 VH-FVN should follow soon; AL has 'Whitehaven Beach' as its name.

These are the first Atr72-600's for Skywest/Virgin Australia if my maths are correct?

Thats correct these are the first 2 ATR72-600.

First of the XZ series aircraft.

Interesting to see the -XZ series being applied to B737s as this block was allocated to the B787 many moons ago but the constant delays and decreasing numbers of available regos reguired that block to be allocated elsewhere.

So I wonder if the time has come for Austrlia to investigate new methods of allocating registrations - ie numbers and letters perhaps - ie VH-123QF or perhaps four letters - ie VH-XZAA ?

G'day Bob... with 1206 available marks (as of 8am today) I think the issue should be more about asking airlines why they feel it's necessary to have 'blocks' of registrations and why they can't simply cherry pick the marks they like from those available. And perhaps also taking back the marks allocated to aircraft that haven't flown for longer than 'x' amount of time (there was talk of that happening a few years ago).

That's funny - when I logged in to that Puget Sound website an hour ago, it had listed the new 738 VH-YIR as being line number 4172 and had undetaken its first flight.

It is now not on there.

New QantasLink DH8-400 VH-LQJ is apparently scheduled to enter service today as QF1484 CBR-SYD at 5.35pm.

Might've got out early, currently operating QLK472D CBR-SYD according to flightaware.

VH-LQJ has left Canberra on QF1472. Was resting outside the hanger when I left the airport late this morning, and according to flight aware it will be arriving into Sydney at 13:32.

Time for an Emirates update.....A6-EGV and A6-EGW have been delivered & are in service.

A6-EGX has just returned to Paine Field from Portland after painting, so delivery isn't too far away !

Virgin Australia VH-YIO B737-800 entered service this afternoon operating DJ613 BNE-MKY

ATR 75-600 VH-FVP is currently enroute Kalgoorlie-Boulder - Brisbane (Due 1:21AM) on delivery. FlightAware.

VH-FVP entered service this afternoon currently on the return of a BNE-ROK-BNE rotation. It's also fitted with ADS-B so it's trackable on FR24 and the like.

Hi all,

To add onto what Brock said, it looks like it was more of a proving/ground staff training flight than a revenue flight as it operated BNE-ROK-HVB-ROK-BNE using VOZ834a,VOZ835a,VOZ833a and VOZ836A as its call sign instead of the usual BNE-ROK flight numbers.

Qantas 738 VH-XZA currently enroute NAN-MEL tracking to the north east of Sydney with an arrival time in Melbourne of about 1745.

Given yesterday's extremely disappointing news, we now know why the -XZ regos won't be seen on a 787 for a while, if ever! :mad:

VH-XZA might be the 737 to have all those names stuck on the side of aircraft!

Evening all,

After being delivered on 21/7/12...

Jetstar's newest A320 VH-VFH finally entered service today...

Its 1st service was JQ735-736 MEL-LST-MEL. It is currently on its way back to MEL from OOL operating as JQ449, it went up to OOL as JQ440.
