Now that would be awesome. Quite a few oldies would come and go from there which means we can still see some great classics despite the noise ban. I hope that happens.

I don't think it would be successful. Australia just doesn't have the massive amount of aircraft that places like the US do and therefore there isn't much of a need for places to store them. I believe most ex-airliners from Australia are still quite useable and therefore get sold second hand anyway.

First thing I thought was where are all the planes coming from... lol.

I guess they could offer it as an alternative to the Graveyards in the USA.

Perhaps they are banking on the Asian market demand for spare parts...but based on the reliability of road-freight in the country areas of QLD I'm not sure getting them from Cloncurry to Cairns to be forwarded onwards would be any faster than getting them out of the US

It'd be nice to get cheap plane parts for us wanna be cockpit bulders :)

This is a bit off topic but it may affect the possibility of a plane graveyard in Cloncurry.

Alice Springs is supposedly going to become a plane graveyard next year.

Love the classics, so this will be great for the Australian spotters :D
