Warnervale - Learn to Fly

Hi

Has anyone learned to fly at Warnervale?

I am seriously contemplating getting my PPL. I work in both Newcastle and Sydney, so am thinking Warnervale looks ideal. A friend did a scenic flight out of there, and said it would be a wonderful place to learn to fly.

Thoughts?

It is the best place around to learn how to land on the centre line.

Its short and narrow

And has some pretty big hills around it to some sides from my very short memory!

Dont forget the big "V" cut into the rows of trees at the end of the runway..

I really dont know about the flying club there, i heard they are moving to another place soonish. Could be wrong

Appreciate the replies. My g/f has bought me some flying lessons there for my birthday, so I will see how it goes and report back in the next few weeks.
