QANTAS reduce initial A380 schedules
Not sure if this has been posted because looks like it has been changed today.

maybe a delay to the second aircraft
|
or giving more training time to crews as a result of the VAustralia announcement? After all, its pretty much A380 vs 777.
|
These reductions have been on the QF site for about 3 weeks now so nothing to do with VA and everything to do with delayed A380 deliveries.
|
From reading Australian Aviation last night the delays in delivery appear to be due to suppliers for the interior components of the aircraft. According to the AA story the V Australia 777 has been delayed until November and the next Emirates A380 delayed by a month.

My brother is travelling on the inaugural Sydney-Singapore QF 31 flight on Jan. 16th. Looks like that is still intact.
Yesterday he heard the tail end of a news item on Adelaide Radio 5AA which said............." delayed delivery of the next 7 aircraft " At the time he did not know if this referred to Qantas and the A380. |

I'm just unsure if Sunday or Monday is referred to as Day 1. So with only 2 flights a week now, what will the A380 do on the other days? Operate any domestic routes to PER maybe, or just soak up the summer sun? |
You wont see that coming on regular flights to Perth, i'll guarentee it now!

They should just incorporate a quick tour of the plane as part of the Airside Tarmac Tours for a small additional fee when the aircraft's sitting idle most days of the week. |
