Dash 8 is the most popular Air Transport aircraft in Australia behind Boeing 737's I think.

No doubt we will see more as the legacy commuter twins start to get too old. Rex still need to sort out their future while others work out their replacements. New replacements are not exactly a great alternative with just the Twin Otter and Skycourier in the running, with the later likely to get a regional sale soon.

Are there many unpressurised 19 seaters still in service in Australia?

Relaistically, REX only has ATRs or less old DHC as replacement options for their ageing prop fleet.

I am not aware of too many un pressurised 19 seaters since the DC3s retired, think there one Emb110 ;)
Plenty of Metros/Jetstreams and the odd Beech 1900 around though, as well as Emb120s

The only reason I mentioned it was your comment about Twotters and Skycourier.

The US hate for smaller props really places REX in a bad place - there is no like-for-like for the SF340. My gut is that they'll either do a deal or live with the screening requirement for larger aircraft and likely move to at least ATR42
