Pilot burries Passenger in the sand

Well, a pilot has buried one of his passengers in the sand in Darwin as crazy as it seems after their helicopter crashed. He was attempting to prevent him from becoming any more hypothermic than he was in the crocodile infested area. Good thinking on his part!

They were lucky.

The chopper was the Robinson R22 VH-HAU

There was very extensive footage on ABC TV last night, it seemed to go on forever. And then they showed it again at the end of the news.

They were lucky alright, 30 years ago I used to swim in this area, not anymore, the ban on croc shooting has seen their numbers expand dramatically. I can hardly believe we used to once swim in the Daly River, we would head down there in the Debonair for an afternoon barby, now you would get eaten alive.

Even the suburban beaches in Darwin are no longer safe.

Maybe it is time for some crocodile boots to be made.
