Seat 71D - QF A380
Hi all,
A friend of mine posted this in his blog... Quote:

The space is used for an emergency escape hatch from the crew rest underneath.

Kurt et al,
This is an escape hatch for the crew rest facility. It is one of my preferred Y seat's on the 388 and your TV pops out of your arm-rest. Great seat, especially since they cut out the free exit seats. But shhhh, dont tell everyone :) Cheers Tim |
Jason is right - you can clearly see the hatch. I was in 70F on a trip home, and it seems any seat in that area is very popular (even 70C is requested often). It is amazing how taking one seat out creates a lot of space for those around it.

All are correct, i got shown how this escape hatch works from the crew rest area when i flew on OQB last year and was let down in the crew rest.

There is still a PTV in the back of 69D which I could see the tail cam clearly from 71D. Although id personally be more than happy not to have the tail cam for J legroom on a 13 hour sector.

When I flew the QF A380 recently I was allocated seat 80K.
This is another without a seat in front. There seems to be a few of these 'bonus' seats on the A380, something to keep an eye on when checking in. :) |
Pics of the special seats you guys speak of ... seat 80A/K is the one behind the door bustle ... plenty of leg room :D
now you just have to find the 4 other special Y seats hidden on the 380 ;) .... |
