Kiwi returning to Oz
ZK-ZQA was cancelled from the NZ register on 25/10.
It is believed to be returning to the QF mainline fleet and take up it's old reg of VH-VZF. It's been in Brisbane since the 25/10. This was the 75th B737 delivered to QF. |
Possibly due to the increasing use of the A332 to Auckland from Sydney.
|
And Melbourne and Brisbane. And reduced Australian domestic flying of the A330s, and increase in B737s on flights to Perth from the east coast.
|
Returned to Oz reg as VH-VZF on 25/10.
|
Is there another 737 going over?
|
Yes
Yes, no idea what one, and will only be there till early next year.
|
Does anybody know what VZF name will be ?
|
I wouldn’t expect it to change

Did it ever fly in Australia as VH-VZF as I have it as being delivered as ZQ-ZQA. Perhaps it was allocated but never taken up ?
|
Was delivered as VZF and remained under that rego for 16 days, although the nosewheel doors had the ZQA already painted.

Arrived in Melbourne on 03/09/2009
Ferried, Melbourne to Auckland 16/09/2009 Entered service, 17/09/2009 Carried name "Jean Batten" and "75TH Qantas 737" whilst in NZ |

VZF returned to service yesterday, I’m surprised to say that it has had a name change and now wears the name Ballarat

Qantas has advised Jetconnect (NZ) of its preferred option to transition the seven New Zealand registered B737s onto the Qantas Air Operators Certificate (AOC).
The reasoning, is the low utilization of the JetConnect fleet. |
VZG ret to register on 09/02
|
VZH returned to the reg on 08/03
|
VZG returned to QF mainline service on 23/02 with QF798 Brisbane – Cairns.
Did anyone notice a name ? |
Was VH-VZH previously ZK-ZQC?
|
Yes

Did anyone notice VZH's new name ?
|
Zooming into Ryan's photo it looks to be Woden.
|
thanks, James.
Your eyes are better than mine. |
Any update on when the next Jetconnect 737 will be converted back to AUS Register?
|
ZK-ZQE completed its work with Jetconnet yesterday (10/5) when it completed QF120 from Auckland to Brisbane.
It is expected to return to its original rego of VH-VZJ |
Greg, do you know what registrations the last two Jetconnect 738s (ZK-ZQG & ZK-ZQH) will adopt when they are finally VH registered. I presume that unlike the other six 738s that these two did not have a VH allocated registration before service with Jetconnect.
The only two registrations in the VZ block that are not allocated to QF are VZN & VZQ and these do not look to be currently available for allocation by CASA, so must be currently utilised. |
VZQ seems to be available as a CASA search indicates no aircraft is registered using this registration so QF can use it if it wishes.
|
VH-VZJ was originally reserved but not taken up.
ZK-ZQG was VH-VZN (ntu) now a glider ZK-ZQH was VH-VZQ (ntu) |
Thanks Greg. From your previous post ZK-ZQE will become VH-VZJ and I presume that ZK-ZQD will become VH-VZI and ZK-ZQF will become VH-VZK.
It will be interesting to see if VZQ is utilised and whether VZN can be purchased from the glider owner. |
I believe VZN is actually a Hot Air Balloon based in Canberra, I think Hot Air Balloons have a pretty limited life span and this one will be three years old
|
thanks, Zac, I should of double checked before I posted.
I can't see QF buying a rego just to keep up a sequence. VA bought BZG in 2010 to honour Brett & Zahra Godfrey (BZG). Virgin Blue’s first CEO. I believe that several VA tickets changed hands for the rego. |
VH-VZJ was added to the register on 11/5
|
Has anyone noticed VZJs name after it returned to mainline service ?
|
Bowral
|
thks, Zac,
