Thought it was rather odd to have two NSW RFS Helitacks in town, no training on the state training calendar. Looks like both are here on call in the flood watch, which was upgraded from minor to moderate today, comes off as forecasted.

VH-SXF has returned to Sydney. |
Hi Robert, I saw VH-SXF at Bankstown today, very smart in the new livery. That's a pretty good looking Transavia PL-12 T300 Airfarmer, I can't remember the last time I saw one of those.
Do you know where the RFS choppers are based ? |
Hazair seems to have a few in its fleet but looks like only six (PL-12) are registered in Australia. I think the NSW RFS choppers are based out of Bankstown, operated and maintained by Trecked (Helitreck).
Westpac Life Saver Helicopter VH-SLA Kawasaki BK117 B-2 arrived today with the callsign LIFE23, currently on 24 hour standby and could be here for four days. https://c5.staticflickr.com/9/8053/2...dd63a113_c.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8554/2...ee54a2b4_c.jpg https://c3.staticflickr.com/9/8694/2...5725d8c4_c.jpg Pratt Aviation VH-FGJ Bombardier BD-700-1A10 Global Express and VH-VBX Bell 206B JetRanger III were spotted at the airport today also. |

At 6:30am many people are just starting their day, some flight crews end theirs with a smooth touchdown at Sydney Airport.

Virgin planted the main gear and FedEx actually had a nice bounce, but there were people in the way and I had to cut it.

A big thanks to Sydney Airport for the invite to tonights Inaugural A380 service for Qatar Airways. This A380 service replaces the daily B77W service. A7-APE had the honours of doing this service.
