ADS-B Record Reception - Ducting
 

With a little help from some good ducting conditions out to the northeast today, my AirNav Systems RadarBox ADS-B receiver picked up Jet Connect's B738 ZK-ZQA operating NZAA to YBBN, at a range of 560.6nm or 1038.2km (highlighted red circle in top right of the map). This is my first verified reception over the 1000Km mark. There was also a good pickup to the south yesterday at around 340nm (red circle at the bottom of the map and not yet verified)

The outer circle is 500nm at 25nm increments.

Some good ducting today with the longest pickup out to the northeast past TESAT, at 602.9nm (1116.6km).

Just picked up my best long distance ADS-B plot so far, out at 648.2nm (1,201.2km). Will have a look at the details tomorrow to see if I can
confirm a Flight No. / Aircraft.

After a quiet winter period, the ADS-B ducting is really going strong at present with the hot north to north westerly winds.

This mornings Delta DL17 service (N709DN B777-232LR) was picked up at 615.81 nm (1140.480 km) 57.5 Deg True (plot at top right of screen). This was just short of the 1,201.2km pickup back in March this year.

There were many other plots in the 400-450nm range also, some US and others Tasman services.

Although we setup our ADS-B station in April 2012, next weekend marks 12 months of processing the data in a structured way, and presenting it on the 16Right.com ADS-B site.

Over the last 12 months we have received and processed over 600 million aircraft transmissions.
