Boeing 748i First Flight
Confirmed for Sunday Morning Seattle time.
http://www.newairplane.com/747/incredible/ In other news, Boeing have sold Korean another 2 748 Freighters bringing their total planned 748 fleet to 7 Freighters and 5 Intercontinentals. This, along with the 5 Air China 747-8 Intercontinental orders the other day, sees Boeing on a bit of a roll with the "Queen of the Skies" after a slow patch recently. |
Exciting stuff. Looking forward to seeing these aircraft popuating the skies. I think sales will jump once they get up and going.

First Flight all good early this morning Sydney time.
http://www.newairplane.com/747/incredible/ Video of take off. Just gotta love the chase plane streaking past but also all enthusiasts must love the sight of Boeing's biggest ever Airliner in 94 years of production taking to the sky. Beautiful Aircraft! |
I just love the single engine lighties holding short waiting to take-off. I would love to have that sort of traffic at my GA field! :D
What is the 'thing' hanging off the top of the trailing edge of the vertical fin? |

it's such a shame they don't do world tours anymore, wouldve been lovely to see both the 787 and 748 here
|
How could they let such an ugly blimp (the A380) supercede their 747.
|
No world tours anymore! I'm shattered!
Please tell me your kidding. I've been sweating on a Dreamliner visit for two years! |
well its not a fact but seeing how Boeing hasn't sent the 787 here after all this time (and the fact it has gone to Farnborough), plus the 787 program is well behind schedule and all the flyable 787s are busy with flight testing programs i think it's highly unlikely it will come to Australia at least for the next 6 months? might be a different story once the deliveries to airlines begin. But the question then is, would they still bother having a world tour after all that? I hope the 748 will show up but it's also been delayed
