They seem to have 3 767s now in their online timetable and they all used 7 days a week now except for one day at HKG for maintenance.

Quote:

Air Niugini has released new domestic and international flight schedules, effective week commencing March 27, 2011.

The new international schedule includes an additional Manila service on Friday, and a third and fourth Singapore service on Tuesday and Saturday.

A third service to Fiji has also been added on Tuesday with a proposed fourth service yet to be confirmed and announced.

The additional Fiji service has also seen Air Niugini undertake a major awareness campaign in Fiji, which includes a one-hour documentary on Papua New Guinea to be aired on Fiji television on Tuesday March 22.

Air Niugini has also continued to improve its Australian services to Cairns and Brisbane, while the domestic schedule includes additional services affecting Buka, Hoskins and Rabaul.

Air Niugini customers are also advised to check the new International Flight Schedule as the Manila service has moved from Tuesday to Wednesday, and there are alterations to the Hong Kong service

Jarden the new schedules commence this Sunday and the 3rd 763 which has not yet gone into service will replace the 757 from that date.

Aah, what a shame.
Love the 757, and in particular, this one- and I'm working tomorrow!
Hope they paint the 767 in similar colours.

What are the Rego's of the 767's

Jarden S 27th March 2011 05:51 AM

It seems that KUL has been dropped from their schedule.
How can Air Niugini do double daily to BNE and only 2 per week to SYD and zero to MEL. Lack of aircraft or Lack of demand? Do they interline at BNE with QF to connect with the rest of Aust then? Any ideas...

Jarden Hi

Ever since i can remember in the 1960'S BNE was the main gateway to POM.The TAA and Ansett 727-100's operated SYD-BNE-POM.It is mainly a corporate market with a lot of Australians based in PNG and with the growing mining industry both CNS and BNE will expand in the future. The close location of CNS and BNE to PNG is the reason for most success of these services.

There are a lot of Australians working and living in PNG and with the expansion of the LNG industry there, this will grow.

Qantas code share with PX and Airlines PNG code share with Pacific Blue out of BNE 4 times a week.

Qantas used to fly SYD-BNE-POM 4 a week with 763 equipment but pulled the route and now code share with PX.

Sydney market has always been poor and i think was actually dropped for about 6 months or so.
Tourism out of Australia is quiet and could do a lot better and i know PNG hope to improve this aspect.

Air Niugini really is a small airline and domestic services have always been it's priority however with the expansion of their international fleet mayby more routes will be looked at.

I dont believe Melbourne services if they were started would be profitable.
