The Quad Meeting in Sydney

Should see some nice movements in Sydney for the Quad meeting in late May.

I remember in 2007 for APEC the US Presidents back up plane (SAM29000) was a nice sight to see at Richmond.

Hoping they do it again!

Cheers
Matt

Ten News reported a short time ago that Three USAF C-17 planes have landed at SydneyAirport ahead of the US President's visit to the city later in May for the Quad meeting.

The C-17s dwarfed the usual planes grounded at Sydney Airport and offloaded important equipment for the President's visit.

10News showed 2 x C-17's carrying advance party (Secret service & limos etc)

It seems funny that there have been few details divulged about the purpose of the Quad Leaders Summit or what will be getting discussed by those four world leaders.

(Probably China in the Indo-Pacific and Asia-Pacific regions, but I'm no authority on anything political.)

Which brings me to my real interest and question on Quad:

Does anyone have arrival details of Air Force One into YSSY? Are they still using a 747 to carry the President? That aircraft has been here before, but I've never gotten photos of it.

Unless Biden can get supply sorted with congress he has stated he will miss the meeting. If he does make it there will likey be the two VC-25s visiting or one and a kneecap aircraft (E4), with the spare E4/VC25 probably at Richmond.

Most of the talking is already done by the underlings. The leaders have already have been briefed and they come together to ratify (sign) agreements.

If Biden doesn't come due to domestic (congress) pressures the Sec-of-State will come instead.

Air-Force-One (if used) will be the old-models as the newer ones are still to be outfitted. Biden has over-ruled Trumps livery and the a/c will look like the existing VC-25's.

Also heard that late-night motorcade practice has commenced on the route from the airport to the city.

Air Force One is a call sign, not an aircraft. If the President doesn’t come it’s not the Secretary of State but rather the Vice President which is expected to attend, most likely using a C32, whatever aircraft is used, it will of course carry the callsign “Air Force 2”
