Rumours the aircraft was headed for Australia operating the delivery flight under the US rego.

Anyone have credible info re that?

I also heard the plane was ferrying to Australia but I don't really have anything to back it up.

The Cessna 310 did a great landing on the water, good to see no one was hurt. Sorry to the guy who bought it.

Did a bit of research and found the website of the pilot, who happens to own a ferry company / flight school in Spain. From reading some of his stories of past ferrys, he sounds like a bit of a cowboy ... ie. venturing into a non-VHF area of the Atlantic without a working HF radio, ferrying a G100 C182 without knowing how to operate the glass at all !
