Air Asia X - Airport upgrade to XL?

Hi,

I am scheduled to fly from MEL-KLLT in October on Air Asia X in normal Y class, however wondering if XL is free, do they allow you to purchase an upgrade to XL class?
As this is the horrid night flight, leaving at midnight, would be nicer to lie down:D

Thanks

I checked at KL when we came back in July and it was RM300 for the upgrade to XL seats.

We flew up in the XL seats and they weren't that comfortable at the time of booking it was only $2 more.

However as the new aircraft -XXC and -XXD are due one this month and next month with lie-flat seats it might be a risk worth taking.

Hi Tom

300RM sounds unbelievably cheap for such an upgrade. I would pay that without a problem. I will see how I go in october. :D

It's gotten cheaper

Flew with them in sept and oct last year and it was $200Aud to upgrade at OOL and 500RM at KLIA

Heading out with them again next month so will double check on prices then

Sorry to bump up an old thread but here are the prices.

Flew Mel - KL $250AUD to upgrade to XL
Flew KL - Mel 300RM to upgrade

I dont know how they can justify 300 RM to $250 on the same route.

The new XL seats are horrid. This lie forward thing must be the worst seating ever invented. I dont know why they put them in.

The good news is they plan to upgrade the seats in economy so that they recline sometime in 2010
