SBS 1 this Saturday Night..

Engineering Connections
Hong Kong International Airport
7.30pm – 8.30pm SBS ONE
Saturday 17 April 2010

Quote:

Hong Kong houses the fifth largest international passenger airport in the world yet before it was built in the late 1990s, its site was no more than a featureless expanse of water. Richard heads east to learn how the airport was built from scratch on a specially constructed island and reveals how this famous landmark connects with a World War II bomber, cold war spying devices and a brass band.
should be worth watching.

Hi Monty

Sounds like a must watch ; thankfully nothing on this Saturday night so hopefully I'll have the TV unless overruled by a higher authority.

I've got several pages bookmarked which describe the construction of this massive project so seeing the doco (for the first time) should be very interesting.

Cheers

Bob

Hi all

This program finished about an hour ago. Kept it on in the background while I was doing some housework before going to work. I thought it was OK, though didn't keep my interest long as production quality was abit cheesy in some areas, like all those random special affect shots of the Hercules (Although I do like Jazz Music!), and some of the obscure camera shots.

I like Jeff Watson's presenting style and his enthusiasm for aviation is infectious, but sorry, the program could have been better.

Again, this is my opinion as a viewer, and I am biased considering what I do for a living as well :p

The majority of Boneyard was filmed during 2007 and first aired in January 2008.
