2 class 744's on 3 class routes

I've noticed that in the past, 2 class QF 744's often appear on 3 class routes. For example:

2008-07-07
05:21:00
VH-OJB
B747-438
QF0074
Qantas
San Francisco-Sydney-Melbourne

2008-07-16
22:54:00
VH-OJA
B747-438
QF0011
Qantas
Sydney-Los Angeles

My question is, when this happens, what happens with First class passengers?

I THINK the business class and first class sky beds are quite similar, so does QF still offer the first class meals, priviliges etc just in a slightly smaller, less private skybed?

I think SYD-SFO is sold as 2 class.

As for QF11, I preusme F pax were moved to the other SYD-LAX flight.

SYD-SFO is listed as 3 class on the QFFlyer site, going 4 class next year of course

makes sense moving F class onto the other flight though.

Over the past few months some 3 class services have been scheduled to operate using 2 class a/c. Pax are usually notified and given options to change etc.

This is due to Y+ installations on 3 class kangaroo a/c and VH-OJK being out of action.

Pretty much all 3 class OJ# a/c now have Y+ and OJK is almost back in service so things should return to normal.
