SAN FRANCISCO, Mar. 20, 2008 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) -- UAL Corp.'s (NASDAQ:UAUA) United Airlines has grounded several Boeing (NYSE:BA) 747 jets to ensure compliance with federal maintenance standards, according to a media report on Thursday.

The Federal Aviation Administration ordered the temporary groundings after discovering that test equipment used at a South Korea maintenance station was faulty, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The move includes as many as six of the carrier's 747 aircraft, according to the report, which cited sources.

The FAA has recently launched spot checks of compliance with safety requirements for all U.S. airlines.

Shares of Chicago-based UAL closed the regular session down a penny at $23.17.

Mark,
I believe all are back flying again, possibly 1-2 still out. The inspections that were required very very minor as far as time is concerned.
