NTL Goes International

Newcastle Airport (Willytown) became an International Airport yesterday with the first direct flight from Newcastle to Auckland.

Today the airport is suffering from smoke from the Salt Ash fire which has caused it to close on several occasions.

The outbound didn't leave until 1300 today. Inbound was apparently struck by lightning on the way over and needed an inspection before return.
