Ek418

Evening all,

Emirates 418 yesterday 27/11/08 was operated by A6-ECF. A first visit to YSSY?

I also notice that tomorrow's EK 418 is coming direct from Dubai and not operating the Bangkok leg. Maybe a they are using the 'EC block for konger range.

First visit according to my ACARS database, will add this new registration.

You need a number of B777-31H(ER)s for a "konger line"

Evening all,

Grahame it was meant to say 'Longer Range'.

Todays was operated by A6-ECH.

Grahame Hutchison 28th November 2008 06:34 PM

Cheers Stefan, I know that’s what you meant to say, "Konger Range" was just an amusing typo.

It arrived pretty much 1st out of all the Int'l arrivals this morning then was towed to the parking area near General Holmes Drive for about an hour or somthing then back to the gate and departed I assume to make more gates available i guess?

Grahame,

I think you'll find that ECF is a 777-31HER, not -31H(ER).

Hi Nathan,

Not sure what the correct designation is :-

Airliners.net have B777-31H/ER
Jetphotos.net have B777-31HER

and I picked up B777-31H(ER) from somewhere else.

Grahame,

I believe that the use of () (or /) in a Boeings type designation is to indicate a minor variation in the aircraft that does not require a new type certificate. Those types that do require a new type certificate (or supplimentary) do not have brackets.

e.g. the 777-200LR was different enough to require a new type certificate (or supplimentary certificate)

777-200 type certifcate:

777-236
777-236(ER)

777-200LR type certificate:

777-233LR

The wording may not be exact, but I think I've covered the facts. :)

Thus, if it has raked wingtips, it's either a -200LR, -200LRF or -300ER.

BTW, I would tend to put more faith in the Jetphotos information.
