Alliance operating on behalf of Jetstar

On a couple of recent mornings, the usual JQ 768 / 769 BNE-ADL-BNE has been operated by an Alliance Fokker 100.

On Friday it was VH-FKA.

Was it just the BNE-ADL-BNE done by the F100, or did it do the rest of the sectors in the rotation (PPP and HBA/LST I think?)? Replacing an A320 with an F100 is quite a drop in capacity! Does anyone know the reason for the change?

Malcolm Parker 30th March 2008 08:28 AM

Perhaps a shortage of A320's, thus the reasoning the A321's will be dissapearing from schedule until MAY/JUN as suggested in the other thread to cover shortfall of A320. Just a thought.

Jetstar have been using QF 738'S on MEL-LST-MEL and MEL-HBA-MEL runs quiet often over the last 6 weeks!

JQ staff can't operate on QF aircraft - apart from the fact it's a different AOC, it's also a totally different aircraft type.

What I mentioned in the initial post has happened each day since Thursday.

I recall a similar thread to this on the old board where the Fokker 100 heads north out of Brisbane for Jetstar
