Afternoon all,

Info from: http://airlineroute.net/2014/12/09/qf-japan-aug15/

QANTAS today (09DEC14) announced expanded service to Japan, with Sydney – Tokyo Haneda service resumption, as well as Brisbane – Tokyo Narita route.

Reservations for both flights will open later this week, according to the airline’s statement. However, operational flight numbers and operational days are now appearing in the GDS’ Flight Information section.

eff 31JUL15 Sydney – Tokyo Haneda 1 daily
QF025 SYD2040 – 0530+1HND 744 D
QF026 HND2200 – 0830+1SYD 744 D

So I can't quite tell from the news release, does SYD-HND replace SYD-NRT or in addition to SYD-NRT?

Adam W 10th December 2014 07:58 AM

Sydney to Haneda will replace Sydney to Narita.
Also according to The Qantas Source, we can expect an announcement soon of another Qantas flight from Australia to Tokyo 3 days per week. Hopefully it will be a resumption of the Perth to Tokyo service.

I think it would be Melbourne if anything. Mel-NRT is already 4 a week with JQ, so supplementing it with 3x week with QF you would get a daily service to Japan.

Ryan K 11th December 2014 08:57 AM

I agree. Similar to the QF/JQ combination to HNL ex SYD.

Adam W 11th December 2014 01:53 PM

I agree that MEL is more likely, more of a case of wishful thinking here in Perth.

Justin L 11th December 2014 03:22 PM

IIRC, wasn't the QF PER-NRT route subsidized by the WA government when it was running also? Happy to be corrected.
