Even then the power company has said that there will be significant disruption to power in the next few days, which is to be expected. So they may need to bring in generators to get Heathrow open again.

There are approximately 185,000 substations in the UK, managed by National Grid Electricity Distribution . the one that supplies the main power to the UK biggest airport LHR burns down early morning , all sounds a bit suss to me . hopefully a full investigation will uncover what happened . I think the airport may also need to look at having a backup that works in these situatoins.
