omega tanker
OMEGA Tanker N707MQ the B707 overnight here and just departed at 7.50am , no idea where he is heading . keep a look out if you need it.
Where did it depart from Steve??
Oppppsss forgot the word CAIRNS from the text... well I knew where it was
sorry :D |
Might have been there after dragging the Rhinos back from Malaysia before it heads home.
That same aircraft - N707MQ - crashed on takeoff overnight at Pt Mugu Naval Air Station near Santa Barbara, California. The aircraft apparently crashed on takeoff, the three crew got out ok.

Glad the crew got out okay. A lot of fuel on board (150,000 lbs acc to text) so would have been heavy.
Seems Omega 707 that crashed was N707AR, not N707MQ!

Aviation safety network had it listed as N707MQ, then changed it to N707AR, so I guess the info first provided was incorrect!!! ahh well, still showing as N707AR on the site.
If it's N707AR, 20029/790, I believe the same bird overran the runway at Sydney back in the late 60's due to being overloaded while flying for Pan Am as 'Clipper Star King'.
