And the 380 the other night only had a handful of crew and enough gas to get to Melbourne. Posed no problem at all.
If a diversion happens again when operating LAX-SYD/MEL (and it will happen!) then I'd say that even with a full load of pax and enough gas to continue onto Australia it would do it pretty easily.
