ADL is sure getting some wild weather, CBR is a big diversion all the same.
QF website is saying it arrived CBR at 1708.

There doesnt appear to be "huge" delays at the time of it's original time of arrival into ADL, maybe in flight things were thought to be worse.
At around this time there was a large short rain band coming across MEL with a couple of cells in it, that probably ruled that out as an option as well.
