Well I remember flying from LHR to BNE back around 1982 on Qantas, and absolutely sure we stopped in Bombay and Perth on the way through... was this once the routing of the QF51/52 variant? We definitely didn't stop in Singapore. Can also remember stopping in Muscat on one of my journeys to London, maybe that was on BA? I certainly remember that BA, United and Continental all served Brisbane direct when I started out in the travel industry back at the end of the 80's... they used to end off every day at the old international terminal. Ah the age of hot towels and no IFE, when flying had a little grace... and no Ryanair
