No disrespect intended toward Nancy Bird-Walton, but it would be nice to see an aircraft also named after Miss Phyllis Arnott, the first woman pilot in Australia to gain a commercial pilot's licence, then known as the "B" licence, her licence number was B334. This was gained in a DH60 Gypsy Moth on 28 February 1931, 18 months after gaining her "A" (private) licence, again in a DH60 on 28 June 1929. Just a bit of trivia to note is that Phyllis' private licence was number A330.
This all occurred before Nancy Bird-Walton had begun to learn to fly.
Nancy receives alot more recognition because of her later achievements and as a result she became the more famous of the early aviatrixes.
