Default Sporting flights resume

In a sign of things to come for Australian sporting codes (at least in the short term), Alliance F70 VH-QQW operated 4 flights yesterday/today allowing the Parramatta Eels to play the Brisbane Broncos in last night's NRL season reopener.

Yesterday, QQ3391 operated BNE/BWU 1206/1323 and QQ3392 BWU/BNE 1427/1539 to fly the Eels north. Kick-off in Brisbane was at 1950. (The Parramatta Eels won 34-6.)

Today, QQ3393 operated BNE/BWU 0007/0119, and QQ3394 BWU/BNE 0221/0334, to return the Parramatta Eels.

Later, QQ3395 operated BNE/OOL 1030/1050 and QQ3396 departed at 1141 for TSV (current ETA 1339). The Gold Coast Titans play the Townsville Cowboys tonight in Townsville. Kick-off is at 1800.

VH-QQW had special livery applied last year to commemorate 100 years since the first flight from England to Australia in 1919. The successful aircraft, G-EAOU (God 'Elp All Of Us?), is on display at the Adelaide Airport museum.
