Default Avalon 2009 - Action

The weather on Friday morning was perfect, plenty of sunshine for most of the day, great to shoot the static displays. Once the display
got underway the weather slowly detoriated, becomming cloudy, hazy and finally very low cloud and some rain.

RNZAF Boeing 757-200 did some very steep climbouts and turns.

Mustang

YAK

Jet powered glider. The jet was developed from the APU used on some Russian aircraft, something like 240lbs of thrust.

Great clider aerobatics.

There goes and aileron ....

There goes a trye. I Checked the hanger later on, the aireron was plastic covered foam and the tyre was an old inner tube.

A nice landing on the car. The driver can activate two hooks that clamp the front tyres of the aircraft.

The USAF C17, simply impressive.
