Basically any aircraft that is to be used for spare parts in Australia has to remain on the Australian register until all useable parts on that aircraft have been exhausted. This is for CASA purposes and also for traceability of the parts removed to service another aircraft in that fleet. Once the parts have been exhausted it is then up to the said company to decide if they then will bring that airframe back to serviceable standard or scrap it, it is then that the aircraft will probably be removed from the register. This is my understanding of it. Someone with more knowledge my be able to correct me.

Michael
