To operate daily services on QF27/28 SYD - SCL - SYD QANTAS will need at least another 789, and two if they don't juggle timings of the SFO or HKG 789 services. Otherwise they will need two 789s for SCL.
Further to my post from yesterday and to answer Dennis' question.

Looking at the QANTAS SYD - SFO - SYD flights in July, 2020 the departure time for QF73 has been put back from today's 17:40 to 19:55 with effect from 29/3/20. This will enable QANTAS to operate to SCL with just the one additional 789, which it is presumed will be 12th aircraft that will be delivered in late May, early June 2020 as services commence on Wednesday 24/6/20. The last 744 service departs SYD on Tuesday 23/6/20 to SCL arriving back the next afternoon.

The routing will be SYD - SFO - SYD - SCL - SYD - SFO etc over a four day cycle. The 789 operating to SFO on Monday will return to SYD on Wednesday morning, operate to SCL at 12:35 and return to SYD at 17:50 on Thursday in time to operate to SFO at 19:55.

In addition, the HKG 789 services on QF127/128 will continue through mid June, 2020.
