Tiger Airways announced the expansion of their services yesterday, in preparation for peak northern summer season, adding capacity to two of its most popular routes, Singapore-Perth and Singapore-Ho Chi Minh City.

The aim of the development is to meet demand from passengers who require affordable travel as well as convenient schedules in the upcoming peak season.

Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City schedules will increase from mid may to 12 weekly flights, and increase to two flights daily from June.

June will also bring the increase of weekly flights from Perth to Singapore from a daily flight to 11 a week. In a parallel strategy, Tiger will aim to provide two flights daily between 18 June and 10 August 2008.

Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer for Tiger Airways, Rosalynn Tay said “Tiger Airways is all about offering low low fares to our customers. With additional flights now on sale, it means more low fare travel to Tiger Airways destinations.”

The additional services will be priced competitively, with one way fares starting for Singapore-Ho Chi Minh city from SGD29.99, and Perth-Singapore for SGD59.99, both for limited dates and subject to seat availability.

“Both Perth and Ho Chi Minh City have proved to be extremely popular with consumers and the addition of thousands of low fare seats will ensure even more travellers who will be able to take advantage of Tiger Airways’ outstanding fares,” Tay continued.

All Tiger Airways destinations are distinct in their experiences, from the unique blend of commercial and cultural identity in Ho Chi Minh City, to the breathtaking natural environment of Perth.

Tay is “confident these additional services will also contribute to the strong growth in the tourism to Singapore from Australia and Vietnam.“
