The original source is a Herald Sun article in September. As it predates the man being convincted and sentenced, it understandably fails to mention the sentence, which is what I was commenting about. I can't find any print article published online which does.
I did another search just now and found a single online article from Friday about a different incident in Victoria where the offender got a $2000 fine and no custodial sentence.
