Default AirAsiaX D7654 Kota Kinabalu (BKI) - YSSY
Seen two of these flights in the last week, seems to be HKG > BKI > YSSY.

Cannot for the life of me find any ability to book these on the AirAsia website. Does anyone know why these are going through BKI instead of KUL (klia2) as the hub?

The other half's family is in Sarawak (KCH), so going through BKI instead of KUL would be significantly better.
