I had never thought about the benefits of the Y cabin on the upper deck of the SQ A380, until the Doyen of Travel, Duke of Perff Luke Chittock, gave me the heads up shortly before returning from a summer sojourn in the Greek Isles.
Upon checking-in, a few sweet words to the rosy-cheeked English lass behind the counter saw my bland lower-deck pre-assigned seating changed to 81C, in her words, "the best seat in the house".
I haven't had a better flying experience.
