Trip Report: Tiger Airways BNE-SYD-BNE (Photos)
Introduction:
Back in September Tiger Airways had a really good sale. It was $19.95 one-way to Sydney. Since it was so cheap I decided to do a daytrip to Sydney. I booked TT724 to Sydney and TT807 back to Brisbane for Saturday 2 February. All up with fees and seat selection it cost me just under $70 return! Brisbane Airport: I left home just before 6:30am and got to BNE at around 7am. Tiger Airways currently do not have online check in so I had to check in at the airport which was quick and easy. Passed through security and went up to the boarding gates. Had a look around at what was there before taking a seat at my gate. VH-EBN after operating the redeye from Perth VH-VQQ has just arrived from NTL and would then fly BNE-MKY-BNE-NTL-MEL-LST-MEL It was just the normal stuff for BNE. Saw OEH taxiing out to RWY19 for the quick hop down to SYD after flying in from DFW. Just before 8am, my Tiger arrived and it was VH-VNF which is a first for me. It was a very quick turnaround and boarding commenced on time for the trip down to Sydney. February 2, 2013 Tiger Airways Australia TT724 BNE-SYD VH-VNF A320 Seat 8F Boarding VNF The flight was full. We taxied out to RWY19 and took off down south. We seemed to level off quite low near Archerfield and then a Qantas Boeing 737-800 whizzed over the top of us so then we continued the climb. Cruising down to Sydney After a quick cruise we began our descent into Sydney. We were told that Sydney was experiencing bad weather and that it was quite windy! We went into clouds and didn’t come out until about 20 minutes later! I could tell we were going to land on 16L or R, as we got closer I could see we were going for RWY16L. Finals for RWY16L over the Qantas jetbase, T3 and T2 Landing on RWY16L We taxied to the terminal and parked about 10 minutes ahead of schedule. Sydney Airport VNF would be flying SYD-BNE return three times today! Virgin B738 VH-YVD Virgin and two Tiger’s
