First XZ in New Roo. Since they were delivered between 2012-2014 they are only just coming up due for repaints. Despite being the newest 73s they were still some of the last (apart from XZP) in the old livery. Wonder what they'll do with XZJ (Mendoowoorrji), will they paint it into plain new livery like they did with VXQ or a modified version of the Mendoowoorrji livery with the new logo and tail?

Could XZJ be the promised new RRII?

Personally I hope Mendo get a second paint job but history says it’s unlikely

Qantas has shown that anything's possible at this point

Speaking of B738 repaints, VYC returned to service early last week after being painted in the new roo colour scheme. This means all VY* and VZ* registered B738s are now in the new roo scheme, which is why QANTAS is now moving on to repainting XZ* aircraft. Also a sharper way to show off their new split scimitar winglets.

Only eight of the 21 VX* block are painted in the new roo scheme and were probably done for necessity with any more dependent on how long the oldest B738's will be kept by QANTAS prior to retirement.

Speaking of which, XZA,B,D,E,F,G,H in the XZ block are now fitted with split scimitars with XZI being in BNE since 22 June, so it may emerge from maintenance with them also. VZU,V,W,X,Y have them fitted from the VZ block, a total of 12 out of the 23 to be fitted.

For clarity, “New Roo” was the name of the livery used from 2007-2017, with the current new livery being “Silverroo”

Just checked and it looks like VZV is still in the 2007 livery

Yeh, my bad too. Thanks for clarifying, Lauren.

In my post above where I said "new roo" it should say "silver roo."

Also Lauren, thank you for your kind comment on the Jetstar A320neo thread.
