Are ladders allowed on the perimeter fence? Do airport security staff have any objections?

The regulations always stated that steps can be used at the fence line but must be 3M clearance between the steps and the fence .I'm not sure whether or not these “ rules” apply anymore , although somehow can’t imagine there has been a change .

Last year, I was told off for standing within 3 meters of the perimeter fence. Some spotters tell me to wait for the police to pass by then quickly get your photo through the fence.

Police (AFP) are likely to be outside the airport perimeter, while the private security companies are airside. Not that I have any complaint about police and security doing their job - I just like to know what's allowed and what isn't. It's a bit like spotting or photography from the staff car park if you're not staff. |
