Indian Navy Chetuk IN492 was on board INS Sumitra at Garden Island this morning. It conducted a short photo flight. Light conditions were not perfect from where I was. Apparently Korean vessel ROKS Chunmugong Yi Sun-sin also visited this weekend. This vessel has room for two Lynx helicopters. Unfortunately I did not see it this morning, so it probably had already left.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Good Morning Spartan

Nice to have one of the RAAF's C-27J Spartans stop by at Sydney Airport this morning. A34-001 (VALO1) overflew the field for a left base onto Runway 16L, after its flight up from Canberra. The RAAF currently
have three of the 10 Spartans on order in service.

The airforce.gov.au site says, " The C-27J Spartan battlefield air lifter will improve Air Force’s ability to move people, equipment and supplies in Australia and our region. With the capacity to carry significant
loads and still land on airstrips that are not suited for the C-130J Hercules, the C-27J Spartan will undertake a range of missions. The 10 C-27J Spartans will be equipped with missile warning systems, electronic
self-protection and battlefield armour allowing them to operate freely in high-threat environments. In our region, the C-27J can access over 1900 airfields compared to around 500 for the C-130 Hercules aircraft.
Within Australia, the C-27J can access over 400 airfields compared to around 200 for the C-130J Hercules aircraft."

The King and Queen of Jordan are currently visiting Australia, arriving in Sydney today, after a short visit to Canberra. The Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight Boeing B777-2ANER A6-ALN, touched down on Runway 16R
at 1249, and taxied to DOM6.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said, "This state visit, at the invitation of the Governor-General, is an opportunity to reflect on the depth of our longstanding relationship. Our countries approach regional and
international issues with shared values and perspectives, which is a strong foundation for ongoing future cooperation".

Conditions: Hot, windy, hazy and shot through the security fence.
