Default Aloha Airlines Auction

The final chapter of aloha airlines is being written tomorrow in Honolulu as all the equipment at its executive offices goes under the auction hammer. I'm planning on being there along with my F/A better half to see what memories might be going for sale that we may add to our airline collection. This is similar to what happened when Ansett closed its doors.

I'm including the link for any of you who might want to snoop at whats going to be auctioned off.

A sad day for local aviation here in HNL.

I wonder if celebrity travel agent to the stars Luke 'Sam' Chittock is en-route to HNL...

Well, we spent way too much money but came away with a couple of historical pieces and just one large 737 model which will grace our home office if I can find a place to put it since its quite large....much larger than any of our UA collection. Prices for aviation related items were high...lots of emotional bidding and many Aloha employees were there and at times were visibly upset. One of the photo collage's we bought had a pic of a FA doing her demo in one of the original uniforms...she was actually there and bid on the collage but couldnt afford the end price...we ended up taking the picture out and giving it to her.
Just fyi for anyone that might be thinking the missed out and might come to HNL for another opportunity there is another auction coming for all their airport offices etc...this was the executive offices yesterday.

Here are some of the local media comments regarding the event...I also included some links to a few of the items we ended up buying. The ac models are not included sinsw there were no pics in the catalog. Not sure how long the links will be good to the auction site.
