Default Vh-oqc

This aircraft has been stuck in LHR since March 19, apparently u/s, resulting in delays of around 12hours of QF10 and 32 out of LHR, and 744's operating as QF11 on Mar21 and tomorrow, Mar23.

Anyone know the reason for this relatively lengthy time out of service?

I tracked OQC out of LHR this morning on http://www.flightradar24.com/.

Time was after 2200 hrs local on Wed in LHR with OQC operating QF10 to Singapore.

Yep, OJT should be arriving in MEL shortly, if not already, and OQC is on its way to MEL now as QF10 arriving tomorrow morning

Apparently OQC has been stuck in LHR and underwent an engine change

From Mick B:

Nobody has added to or refuted the above comment and I would have expected some amplification of such a serious issue.

Is this a normal thing to have an engine change for such a young airframe?

Wouldn't most engine issues be fixable on the wing?

Can someone offer further information what the engine fault was (bird strike / non flight related issue??)
