Default Crane drops A320 in India

From 9News.com.au

A massive aircraft has crashed to the ground next to a busy Indian airport after a transport crane collapsed.

Begumpet airport officials were using a 200,000kg crane yesterday to relocate an A-320 to a training facility when the massive transport mover buckled and collapsed, sending the aircraft crashing down onto a privately owned building.

A police official at the scene told local media the unused aircraft was being moved 4km from the airport to the training ground where it was to be used to test pilots and cabins staff when the crane's support bars began to bend.

The accident was captured on camera by one of the many onlookers attending the relocation.

No-one was injured in the potentially disastrous accident.
