Default Eight Hornets to roar to RAAF Richmond

http://www.hawkesburygazette.com.au/...-week/?cs=1453

THAT thrilling WHHHHOOOOOOSSSHHHHH of gut-shaking, surging power that heralds the passage of an F/A-18 over your head will be heard in Hawkesbury skies next week.

F/A-18 Hornets will carry out diversion training at Richmond RAAF Base and surrounding airspace next Tuesday and Wednesday, July 26-27 from 6-10.30pm.

Up to eight Hornets will start their staggered departure from RAAF Base Williamtown at around 6pm and will conduct an instrument approach at Richmond before returning to Williamtown at approximately 10.30pm. They will depart at 15-minute intervals.

The RAAF advised that noise management and environmental impact were vital considerations when planning and conducting the exercise. The spokesperson said they appreciate the support they receive from the Richmond community.

Find out more about aircraft noise and flying activities is available at www.defence.gov.au/aircraftnoise or by calling 1300 DEFENCE (1300 333 362) and asking to be connected to RAAF Williamtown.
