Thumbs up

Hi Kurt,

I am available on both dates, hence, I selected both time slot as expression of interests. By doing so, will this become a problem?

Thanks again mate. Can't wait to finally meet you in person. A big fan of your photos!!

Regards,
Hendra

Hi Hendra,

Thanks for the thanks and I appreciate your comments

Re your double registration, it will be ok, as that just tells us you're available for either tour. As I mentioned, the selection will be random, like a hat draw, so if you're available for either Airfield Tour you could end up on Friday's or Saturday's.

Either way, everyone is invited up to the SACL Rooftop event after the Friday tour as this is open for anyone. We've already got over 40 registrations for the rooftop event, so it's surely going to be a super gathering. I look forward to seeing you then.

Sorry if I am posting in the wrong thread here (forum mod please move my post to the right thread if this is not the most appropriate thread).

Has anyone been to the Rydges planespotter rooftop area yet? I think it may be a good place to hang out before or after getting inside SYD restricted areas either on 4 or 5 April.

Hi Dennis,

Regarding the rooftop access at the Rydges Hotel for Friday 4th April, last I heard, there is a function on in their Dreamliner Room during that particular day, so if they choose to open the Observation Deck afterwards, it would not be before 7pm.

So it may be a suitable location for after the SACL Rooftop event which is scheduled to close at 7.30pm. People could then swap rooftops so to speak :-)

Best to keep an eye on the Rydges daily Facebook Page updates for access.

Hi Kurt

Many thanks for the intel.

It would be a shame if the observation deck were to be closed to the public due to a function.

Oh well, bad luck I guess. I was hoping to go there and have a look before the 4 April arvo spotting session as I have a competing commitment back in the City that night which means I won't be able to stay for SACL rooftop event for too long.

Hi there,

I'm lucky enough to be going on Friday night event and early Saturday morning tarmac tour.
Can you please advise the best place to park? SACL said they weren't giving us free parking, so I was wondering if anyone has some good ideas?

Cheers, Nadia

Unhappy Parking for airside tours

I think your only practical choice is to pay $57 for the T1 terminal car park unless someone can point us to an alternative that will be viable at 6 am on Saturday morning.

I wonder if Anne can get us a promo code for the day that would reduce the pain a little?
