Tough times ahead for national jet ????
The "West Australian" reported today that National Jet Systems has lost
its twice weekly, five year Government contract to fly to Cocos and Christmas Islands when it was outbid by Sky Air World. This setback in W A follows on from the loss of flights to Ravensthorpe which supported BHP's recently closed nickel mining operation. And intense competition for mining contract work from Skywest, Network, Skippers, Ozjet, Alliance and Virgin Blue is making NJS's once cosy operation in W A very difficult at present. BTW, the "West Australian" has a new aviation writer - Geoffrey Thomas - who has written for other papers on the subject for many years. He knows a bit about aviation and has been a long time enthusiast and member of the local spotters group, AEGWA for more than 20 years. |
